The whole field plays one stroke-play pot — net or gross, the organizer's choice. Standings come straight off the tournament leaderboard, and the lowest totals win.
The payout
It pays the top finishers on the same steep curve as Best Ball Teams — each paying place doubles the next (two → 67/33, three → 57/29/14, …), in whole dollars with any remainder added to first. Players who haven't teed off rank last and aren't paid.
Good to know
- Net uses field-relative handicaps (the lowest plays scratch); gross uses raw scores.
- Pick how deep it pays — a percentage of the field, capped at a max number of places.
Worked example
16 players, $10 each
A $160 pot paying the top 25% — four places. The doubling curve pays roughly $86 / $43 / $21 / $11 from first to fourth.
